How To Organize Your Homework

How To Organize Your Homework
Hey guys!! Okay, so sometimes, I am just overwhelmed with homework! I don't know what order I am supposed to do it in and if I should work ahead. Then I did the following and it helped a ton!

1.HAVE AN ORGANIZER. If you don't know what i am talking about, it is sort of like a journal, but it already has the dates and days of every month of the year. My school used to provide us with one, but not anymore. Still, if your school doesn't provide one, buy one. They don't cost much. And then, at the end of class, when you are walking in the halls, or at your next class, write down all your homework from the previous class. Then, once you get home, you have it all right there in front of you.
2.GET BINDERS/FOLDERS FOR EVERY SUBJECT/CLASS. It will totally help you out. This helps you know where your homework and notes are. This defeats the risk of having them shoved to the bottom of your backpack.
3.HAVE A HOMEWORK FOLDER. This way, you won't lose your homework or accidentally put it in a different binder. Then you can look at all of them and see which ones are more important.
4.SET A WORK ROUTINE. Mine is, homework due tommorow first, study for tests/quizes second, work ahead third. easy and simple.
5. HAVE A CLEAN WORKING SPACE so you have lots of room. You don't need distractions!! You just wanna finish your homework so you can chill with your friends!
6.DO IT! I would do 1st period 1st, 2nd 2nd, 3rd 3rd, etc. If you don't have any homework due the next day for that class, skip it, then come back later when you need to work ahead.
WARNING! when I say work ahead, that is only if you have time. Don't overload yourself with homework if its not due till next week. I'm not saying procrastinate though. But, you need to get good sleep to perform at your best.

Hope that helped! Love yall!

Giving a Good Presentation

Giving a Good Presentation
Giving a presentation, especially at school in front of everyone, can be very nerve-wracking. So this set is to calm your nerves by giving you tips on how to make your presentation awesome.

1. Don't put too many words on the screen! Using programs like Poerpoint or Prezi.com can be great for your presentation, but only if you use them tasefully.
The main thing to remember when making your poerpoint/prezi is to NOT PUT ANY FULL SENTENCES ON THE SLIDE. If you just have to use sentences, don't put more than four or five words into once sentence. Pick a few words that convey your main idea, and put them in a list using bullet points. Then, when you get to that slide and start talking, you can elaborate on the bullet points. For example, this would be a great slide for a powerpoint about the United States-

The Unites States Of America
- History
- Culture
- Government

People don't like to follow along on a big paragraph and listen while you read it aloud. That's boring. But when they don't have to read all that, it's more fun because they get to listen to you talk, which is more natural.

How To Deal With Annoying Siblings...

How To Deal With Annoying Siblings...
BTW: This is not meant to offend anyone who is a younger sibling or older sibling

Okay, so... Your brother won't leave you alone when you need to study for a huge test tomorrow or your sister won't stop complaining about her doll, or your older brother keeps bossing you around all the time or your older sister tries to act like your mom! Are you saying one of the past senarios? Then I encourage you to read on!!

IF YOUR SIBLING IS YOUNGER:
1. "OMG!! My little brother/sister keeps wanting to do everything I do! She copies me all the time and I get so frustrated!!!" Well, most likely, he/she isn't going to quit. When they copy you, think of it as a compliment. Because it really is!! They aren't trying to mock you... They want to be like you!! That is most likely the case.
2. "Ugg! My little brother/sister will not stop bugging me!! I have to study for this huge final but they want me to play!" One thing you can do is go somewhere else quieter. If you have a car, you can drive to the library or something. If you don't first, try explaining to your sibling the reasons you can't play with them. But they may not understand. And in every case try NOT to yell at them. They will only get frustrated or cry. If they get frustrated, they might try to annoy you on purpose to get revenge, or if they cry, you will end up getting in trouble. Try bargaining with them. Maybe say "Look (name), I have to study for a really big test. If you let me study tonight, I will play with you/ get ice cream/ take you to (place) tomorrow. sound like a deal?" Then, they get something out of it. But DO NOT DO THIS ALL THE TIME!! They will annoy you on purpose to try to get a bargain so they can get something out of it. Then, to them, they get an award for annoying you. So only use this method on big emergencys.

IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER SIBLING:
1. "My older brother/sister will not stop bossing me around! He/She tries to act like my dad/mom!" First of all, you should cut them a little slack... Chances are, if they are bossing you around, they are probably atleast in their teen years. That doesn't mean it's right though once you hit your teen years. But, if they are like that, cut them a little slack. They are trying to grow up and some peoples parenthood instincts come in a little to soon. They may just want to feel older. I f they ask you to do something simple, just do it, its not worth arguing over. I don't mean like, get them a glass of water everytime they ask for it, but small things. But if they ask you to do something that is your buisnesss, your responsibility, or something you don't want to do, just tell them no. The truth of the matter is, they really ARE NOT your parents. *gasp* If they keep bossing you around or treating you meanly, tell your parents about it. They will most likely make the conflict cease.

Well , hoped that helped anyone that needs help with this!! If you have any other tips for me, Kathryn. Plz feel free to comment on my request set or pm us!

Guide to drawing portraits!

Guide to drawing portraits!
I decided my first tip would have to be something I know well- so I've written a few things about drawing portaits, which are my favorite things to draw.
*************
1. Draw lightly! This is one of the biggest mistakes I see people make- when they're just in the early stages of their masterpieces, they are are pushing WAY too hard with the pencil. When you first start your drawing, you don't have a perfect idea of what your picture is going to look like, and you have to be able to erase whatever you want. And that means drawing as light as possible while you can still see the pencil line. All you have to do is lightly swipe the pencil across the paper, that's it. Otherwse, when you try to erase an ugly line, it won't completey go away, and tht might ruin your whole drawing.

2. Start simple, and slowly get more detailed. When you start, just look at your subjectin the simpelest way possible- with shaps! If you're just drawing a face, draw a circle for the head, then draw a round triangle on the bottom of the circle for the chin. Make teardrop shapes for the eyes, a few circles for the nose and nostrils, etc. Easy, right?! That's what's great about this method. Once you're happ with the placement of the facial features on your drawing, you my start to get a little more detailed by adding hair, wrinkles, or nostril holes. Another key here is to go slowly!

3. Shade very carefully- the shadows on the person's face add a LOT to the picture. What I like to do is very lightly outline each area of shadows. For example, take the girl with the camera and sunglasses in the set. If I was copying that picture, I would outline that whole shadowed area on the left side of her face, even going around were it goes into points on her forehead. The outline would also go down under her nose and on the outside of her chin. Then to help me even more, I would make another line inside that outline to go around that darker shadow on he chin. After that, you just have to fill in the spaces!

4. Blending the shadows. This sort of goes with the last tip. To make the shadow nice and smooth, shade VERY LIGHTLY back and forth in the same direction. Then you can go and smear it together with your finger, which will make it look even more smooth.

5. Hair- don't to a bunch of wavy lines for hair, that takes forever and it looks bad. Instead, draw many chunks of hair. About down to the middle of the head, all the hair can be together, but then start making different chunks of hair seprate from the rest. You can see this in the pictures in the set I made. Also, make sure to put highlights in the hair, no one's hair is one single shade :)
